

Joseph S. Yohn was born on May 20, 1933 in Portland Oregon to Leonard Otto and Orpha Elise Yohn. He died on February 17, 2015 in Portland Oregon at the age of 81. Joseph had two older brothers and one older sister who are now all deceased. He was a swimmer who also enjoyed track and baseball while attending Benson High School. He even made All City playing baseball back in 1951.
After high school, Joseph joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in July of 1955 and then went on to marry his sweetheart Lorenia L. Hayden on October 28th that same year. Shortly after they married Joseph went on to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a machinist; later he would become a baker and work for Sunbeam and Continental Baking. Joseph will be remembered for his love of westerns, comedy and his great sense of humor.
Joseph is predeceased by his son Joseph Yohn Jr. who passed away on January 21, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Lorenia Yohn; his son Michael Yohn and two daughters Teresa Coffman and Kelly DeChant; his eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A committal service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086.
