Judy E. Morreale was born on July 20, 1952, in York, Pennsylvania, to Betta and Kenneth Armold. She passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Judy spent the first 13 years of her life in York, Pennsylvania, before moving with her family to Azusa, California. She graduated from Azusa High School and went on to attend Citrus College to become a nurse like her mother. Sadly, that dream was cut short when the school determined she could no longer continue in the nursing program because of her epilepsy. The news broke Judy's heart.
On October 1, 1972, Judy married the love of her life, Glen Robert Morreale, at Covina United Methodist Church in Covina, California. Their love story began at a local roller-skating rink in Azusa, where Glen often said he knew at first sight that Judy would one day be his wife. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and knew each other for a total of 56 years.
Although Judy was never an active member of the military, she proudly served alongside her husband in her own way. During Glen's 17½ years in the United States Army, Judy left the comforts of home and family to follow him wherever the military sent them. She embraced the military lifestyle with love, strength, and dedication, making every place they lived feel like home.
Throughout her life, Judy worked several part-time jobs. She started as a nurse's aide, where she was recognized as Nurse's Aide of the Month, and later worked as a waitress at a local pizza parlor. Judy was also a talented artist whose work was published in the Hawaiian military phone book before later working in office and retail positions. Mostly, Judy took on the most important job of staying at home, raising her two children, and keeping a home warm and welcoming to all.
One of Judy's proudest accomplishments was earning her driver's license after going the required number of years without an epileptic seizure. For the first time, she had the freedom to drive herself wherever she wanted without depending on others. Her joy with this freedom was immeasurable.
Judy enjoyed crocheting, crafting, scrapbooking, drawing, sewing, quilting, making doilies, and baking for those she loved. She loved playing pinochle, table games, team bowling, and could often be found happily putting together a puzzle.
Judy loved her family with all her heart. She was thoughtful, faithful, and a friend to everyone she met. She also had a funny, humorous, and sometimes sarcastic side that didn't always come out, but when it did, it made everyone around her smile. Judy was truly devoted to loving and caring for her husband, Glen, her children, and her grandchildren.
Judy will be remembered as a dedicated wife, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a woman with a beautiful spirit who always put her family first.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Glen R. Morreale; son, Joseph L. Morreale; daughter, Christine D. Moormann; and her cherished granddaughters, Ayla D. Proske and Savannah R. Russell. Memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Judy's honor.
A funeral service and celebration of Judy's life will be held on Monday, August 10, at 11:30 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, Oregon. Following the service, Judy will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery.
