Julia Margaret Rasor, after an extremely long and healthy life of 103 years, 5 months, and 6 days, went to be with the Lord on Jan 10, 2019. Julia was born Aug 4, 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri before the start WWI. She moved to Oregon with her family in 1923. Julia graduated from Franklin High School in 1933, St Helens Hall Jr. College in 1935 and Willamette University in 1937. She was one of the oldest living graduates of all three schools. She started her teaching career in Dallas, Oregon after graduation. Julia obtained a Masters degree in Counseling from Oregon State University and for many years was a much respected counselor at Wilson High School in Portland. She married Frederick W. Rasor on September 15, 1940 and they were married for more than 58 years before Fred predeceased her in 1999. Julia was an active member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in SW Portland for over 66 years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, summer family camping and beach trips. Survivors include her three sons, John F. of Atlanta, William T. of Sequim WA and Robert P. of Portland; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Julia leaves a legacy of the importance of family, faith and community service. The family suggests remembrances in Honor of Julia be made to: Mary’s Woods Healing Garden
