Kathy was a true patriot, dedicating over two decades of her life to the Army while serving and protecting our country. Her commitment shone brightly during Operation Desert Storm, where she played a crucial role in maintaining and working on Apache helicopters. Her bravery and dedication to our country will forever be remembered and honored.
It's also important to acknowledge the challenges Kathy faced as a gay woman in the military during that time. She courageously navigated a path that wasn't always easy, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations. We owe her a debt of gratitude for her strength and resilience.
Beyond her military service, Kathy had a heart full of love, especially for her cat, Pooh. Their bond was a source of comfort and joy in her life, highlighting the tender and caring nature that defined her.
She enjoyed sharing stories and experiences, sometimes the same story every visit. Kathy's love for entertainment was evident in her admiration for actors Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. Their performances offered moments of inspiration and escape for her.
They knew the importance of family and the unconditional love that sustains us through life's journey. December 19th, 2023, she left this life to start anew in the hands of the Lord and she will be missed greatly.
As we bid farewell, let us remember her as a beacon of strength, a loving caretaker to her beloved cat Pooh, a dedicated military veteran, and a woman who faced adversity with grace. May her memory be a source of inspiration for us all, and may she rest in peace.
