Kathryn and I met at work and became friends. I loved her sense of humor and met several friends when  Kathryn invited me to join in her Saturday coffee group.  She and I were in a book club together and drove together to the meetings. I really miss her and treasure my memories of Kathryn.



I meant Kathryn thru another friend many years ago. Starting with Saturday coffees and we introduced her to Volkswalks. Whenever just she and I went alone we always got lost during it and but enjoyed many trails and funny stories. She enhanced our interest in opera as she often traveled to Seattle to see many performances. Rene Fleming was her favorite. She was a very unique woman and had a love of cats. Her latest was named seven . The one surviving her was Pumpkin and found a forever home with a friend.  We miss her joining us for our coffee times. A unique sense of humor.

I met Kathryn at mt first dental job in Oregon. She was working on a fluoride rinse program in the area schools and I worked at the public health dental clinic in Hillsboro.
We reconnected when we both worked at Kaiser Dental Rockwood. She was in our book club and we often drove together to the meetings.
Kathryn invited me to join her and some friends for Saturday coffee and I really got to know her very well. Kathryn was one of a kind, very intelligent and opinionated.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. I really miss her.

From the mid-1970s to the early '80s, Kathryn and I were good friends. I knew her then as "Kathy." We both lived at Hampton Court, an 18-unit apartment building on NW 22nd and Flanders, where we enjoyed one another's company over some great dinners and a martini or two or three. We also loved that great Chinatown restaurant, Hung Far Low, where she introduced me to shrimp-in-shell, dry, among other exotic entries from the Other Menu. We lost contact after I left Portland and although we said we'd get together to catch up (after we ran into one another by accident in the Nordstrom women's room), we could never get the timing right. I regret that, and regret that I only learned of her passing through a random Internet search. But from the photo that accompanies her obit, I'd say she was enjoying life to the fullest. I wish I could have been there to share part of her joy.


I just found out that Kathryn passed. We volunteered together at the airport and we always had so much fun. I hadn't spoke with her for quite a while and tried calling her and phone was disconnected. This saddens me as she was so sweet to me as I was going through difficult times with my mother. RIP Kathryn.....

Did she taught at a deaf school in the 60's.  If so, she was my teacher at Hosford school.  Had a great memories of her.   So sorry for the loss.

I first met Kathryn at Rockwood Kaiser Dental and worked with her for many years before she retired. I also had the pleasure of her company at our monthly book club that included other former and present Rockwood employees. I always enjoyed hearing Kathryn's insights on our current read and reading whatever was her pick for a book, and of course sharing current office gossip 🤭 I always learned something from Kathryn, I will miss her opinions and her strength of character. My favorite recent memory is celebrating her 80th bday and how she loved my dog who was feisty, like her. 
RIP Kathryn, I think you and RBG will have a lot to talk about 😇

I worked with Katherine many years at Kaiser Rockwood dental office.  Although she was very strong in her beliefs and opinions she was a hoot to work with.  Her intelligence astounded me and I ask her for advice many times financially and otherwise.  We got a kick out of the humble little car she drove that had a  History of many dents.   She loved the downtown lifestyle.  She was a classy lady and always  enjoyed Classical Music and the next upcoming play,  sometimes she would travel to To another state  to take in..I'm glad for the working relationship we had together ..Thanks,  katherine. I have many good memories of working with Kathryn at Rockwood Dental  for 15 years.  One memory that stands out was her ability for art  enhancement .  She would add these little cut out pictures from magazines or such and place them on our pictures in the clinic.  She did have a sense of humor about all those little patty turner heads that Dr. Watanabe  had placed everywhere.  I recall she did not like Christmas at all,,, so I gave her an Easter card for Christmas. She loved it! Everyone will miss her.

I loved Katherine honesty.  We understood each other and had a good friendship. She was funny.  I remember one of our serious conversations and I asked her did you ever regret not having children.  She was like NO.... and believe it or not that was a comfort to me. Rest in peace Katherine.

I have know Kathryn for 50 years..meet her when I was a child and work next to her for many years..she was a strong lady and I respected her. She had been in our book  club for about 20 years.She will be missed..

Someone who set a president of specific ideas. Interesting and set in her ways.
I have special memories at Rockwood and years of Katherine walking the halls.
R.I.P. You strong woman.
