Our dear Katie lost her second battle with leukemia. Katie was born in Busan, South Korea and came home to Portland with her parents and brother in April, 1996. All who were lucky to know Katie knew a young woman full of life who was funny, kind, and loving. Katie was so happy to have a job at Legacy Emanuel hospital and was on her way to an independent life. Katie dearly loved our dog Mindy and Mindy loved Katie.
Katie is survived by her parents Sterling Bennett and Sally Kimsey, brother Jesse and his partner Christie as well as by aunts, uncles and cousins.
We want to thank all the medical and support staff in the bone marrow transplant unit of OHSU who cared for Katie.
