On Saturday, February 4th, 2023, beloved son, brother and uncle, Kelly Loren Skarphol passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was 70 years old. Born with his twin brother Keith to Arthur and Sylvia Skarphol from North Dakota, he was born and raised in Portland with his older brother and 3 sisters. He is survived by his brother Arden and sister Kathy.
Kelly spent his career as a Dental Technician for over 35 years with his business, Rose City Dental Lab. He was known by his dentists as an artisan for his quality of work and was beloved by those who knew him for his character and happy demeanor. When he wasn’t making crowns and bridges, he was swinging a golf club and joking with his friends, often saying “Uff Da”, from his Norwegian upbringing and known expletive, he’d say in jest. He was a Christian man, known for his devotion to the church and his biblical foundation.
A private service will be held in his memory, May 29th, 2023 at Skyline Memorial Gardens. Both his birthday and Memorial Day, in remembrance of him.
