Kimi Hara passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at 91 years of age. She was born on July 4th, 1921 to Eijiro and Hamano Hara in Gresham, Oregon. She grew up in Gresham with eight siblings, and graduated from Gresham High School in 1940.
Her main focus and passion in life was spent pursuing the art of embroidery. In her free moments she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, fine foods, her pets, reading, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Kimi is known best by those who loved her as a strong-willed, determined person who did not let adversity keep her down. She is survived by her sister, Mary Coe of Portland, and niece, Georgia O'Mary.
