He was educated in the Portland Public Schools System and attended Jefferson High School.
Larry was employed by Tri-Met for 24 years where he achieved Grand Master Operator in 2014. Often, he conducted daily prayer with fellow employees. He recently retired on April 29, 2019 and enjoyed a festive retirement celebration.
He was a man of faith who loved the Lord and was very active in church ministry serving as a Security, Greeter, Cell Leader and Life Group Leader, Door Keeper, and filled in other ministries such as driving the bus for youth programs.
Larry’s hobbies included fishing, socializing, and cooking popular dishes like spaghetti, chili, and hog head cheese.
He had an amazing smile and never met a stranger. He had the gift of gab and greeted everyone as if he’d known them for years.
Larry is survived by his wife, Carmen Brant; children, Cheree, Selena (Jeremie), Tina, Andrew (Arlita), and Jolene (Nick); siblings, Betty, John, Mary, Debra, and Anthony; mother-in-law, Grisell Cassidy; grandkids, Patrisha, Andre’, Mahogany, Brandon, Bakari, Blake, Joy, Deshon, and Anthony; great grandkids, Jeremiah, Danny, Aidan, Josiah, and Saige; and a host of nieces and nephews.
