Larry H. Tumbleson, beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 85.
Larry was born on November 29, 1940, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Robert V. Tumbleson and Grace Jerrow Tumbleson. He spent his childhood in Yakima, Washington, where he attended Davis High School before continuing his education at Yakima Valley College.
In 1962, Larry proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably until 1965, achieving the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (SP4/E-4). His time in the military reflected the dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic that would define the rest of his life.
On September 24, 1966, Larry married the love of his life, Sandy, in Seattle, Washington. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring love and partnership.
Larry enjoyed a successful 30-year career as an insurance claims adjuster, where he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his fairness, professionalism, and genuine concern for others.
A faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Larry lived a life guided by kindness, humility, and compassion. He found joy in spending time on the golf course, shooting hoops, playing cards, pool, and ping pong, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Those who knew Larry will forever remember his cheerful greetings and words of wisdom. Whether he was calling out, "Hey Guy,” or encouraging his kids with "Rise and Shine, the party's over," reminding them that "It is what it is," or offering the timeless advice, "Don't sweat the small stuff," Larry had a way of bringing a smile to those around him.
Above all else, Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted dad, cherished Papa, and loyal friend. His greatest pride was his family, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in each of them.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert V. Tumbleson and Grace Jerrow Tumbleson.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Sandy; his children, Lisa (Wade), Jeff (Ashley), and Scott (Danette); his seven beloved grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Colton, Blake, Ainsley, Finley and Teagan; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Though Larry's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of love, laughter, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
