Born to parents, William F. and Maxine F. Van Loo on April 24, 1933, Lawrence was raised in the Beavercreek area.
He joined the Army in 1953 where he served for 2 years, before entering the Army Reserve for another 6 years. Later, he worked as an engineer for Southern Pacific Transportation Company, from which he retired.
Lawrence was your standard outdoorsman who loved all thing having to do with hunting, and birdwatching. He was best known to be a no-nonsense and cantankerous kind of person; definitely leaving a sentimental impact on his closest family members. “Hurry up and wait,” was one of his famous lines, an example of his feisty ways.
Lawrence was preceded in death by sons, Loren Craig and Kenneth Kevin. He is survived by his daughter, Karen; grandchildren: Santana, Raymond, Raelynn, Kevin, and Soleil; great-grandchildren, Tawnie, Taylor, Kenlee, Wilson, Nora, and Jeep; great-great-granddaughter, Everly; his sister, Patricia; and his partner, Rose Younger.
Per Lawrence’s request, no services will be held.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
