Lee Stafford passed away peacefully 4/15/18 at an adult care home in Vancouver, WA with her loving family by her side. She was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had been living with Parkinson's disease for over 5 years. Lee was born in Vinita, OK but moved to Oregon in the 1940's with her family, settling in Coos County, OR.
Lee lived most of her life in Portland where she raised her family and spent decades volunteering her time in support of schools and the Overlook Neighborhood Assn., the annual Bridge Pedal Bike Ride, and spearheaded the annual Night Out block party on N. Colonial Ave. as she was a staunch advocate for community. Lee also volunteered with the SMART reading program.
Lee's warmth and intelligence, not to mention her great sense of humor, drew many to her over the course of her life. Lee was a long time member of Blessed Sacrament and Cathedral parishes in Portland.
Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas; she will be missed by her sons David and Samuel; daughter LeeAnne and son-in-law Dominic Mancini; grandson Darin and granddaughter Jessica; brothers Pius and Paul Greiner and their families in Coos Bay, OR; and numerous nephews, nieces, great grandchildren and many beloved friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, April 23, 2018 at Zeller Chapel of the Roses, 2107 NE Broadway St., Portland.
