On June 17, 1926 in Wolverton, MN to Chester Lee and Lillie Amanda Brewer were blessed by God with a son LeRoy Leslie. LeRoy became a child of God as an adult, through Holy Baptism and later renewed through confirmation Evangelical Christian Free May, 1938 and Our Savior Lutheran December 1959. He was the youngest of four, Harold, Glenn, & Ursula.
LeRoy was a Boy Scout in heart. He loved to fish, bowling, go to the "dogs" and, yes, go to the casino.
He attended schooling in Wolverton, Minnesota and graduated from Wolverton High school June 1944. He received prize scholarship awarded by State Council of Minnesota College-Commercial Law. During WWII he was U.S. Navy Storekeeper 3rd class 6/14/1944 - 7/9/1946.
He did find time in his life to marry Doreen Jewel December 6, 1952/1983 in the state of Nevada, (City) Reno. He fathered two siblings in his busy schedule, Dixie (11/28/53) and Rick (11/6/54). He was blessed with a granddaughter, Maria Suzette by Rick on 7/21/83.
He was career-oriented accepting the numerous challenges offered at Hart Carter, Atlantic Richfield (CA), Cargill Grain, AAL, Blue Line Grain Exchange and United Grain. He loved working in the importing and exporting of grain, knowing feeding the United States and other countries was important. Within the business of grain he had opportunity to become "Lifetime Member in GEAPS" that offered various travel experiences.
LeRoy was civic oriented during his retirement years; he gave the gift of life at Red Cross quarterly. He enjoyed the juice, cookies & donuts afterwards. His last request was a living memorial to Our Savior Lutheran Church 11100 NE Skidmore Street, Portland, OR. 97220 in which he was a member since the latter 50's.
He was a part of seeing the current church built from the ground up. His greatest reward as a Christian was accepting people for who they were and not what they were.
