Leslie Camille Fischer, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 48 surrounded by her Family and Friend Village. Leslie was born at Emmanuel Hospital on August 1,1977, to Henry and Camille Fischer. Leslie attended St. Mary of the Valley Grade School, St. Mary’s Academy and Jesuit High School. She earned a degree in French from the University of Oregon with her beloved Oregon Ducks. She continued her education at Linfield College where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She spent most of her nursing career in corrections.
The simplest things in this world brought Leslie joy:
Big Gulps and Beef Sticks.
Whoppers from Burger King.
Recycling anything and everything.
Burt Reynolds and a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am.
Dolly Parton and Cher.
Tupac, Snoop Dog, and Notorious B.I.G.
A nice set of fake nails.
The Oregon Ducks.
Spiders in jars.
Platform shoes and Bell Bottoms.
But the biggest giver of joy for Leslie were her two children, Georgia and Hagen. They were her world and she worked so hard for them by loving them unconditionally. Everyone who knew Leslie could see that she was at her happiest when her kids were with her. Leslie had a big heart and was funny. She had unbridled empathy for others, was so authentic, incredibly resilient, could spin a negative situation into a positive one, and somehow make the situation kind of fun. She had her own language and sayings for everything. She “tootled” around her house in her “bells” while sipping on a “Coke Sode” waiting to talk to “Fast Eddie” about a “TA.”
Godspeed Leslie. We are all looking for signs and will be reminded of you often. Your Village loves you and hopes you are in Elysian Fields with all of those you loved that went before you. And Burt Reynolds.
