Jim, I was so saddened when I heard the news Monday. I always hold onto a letter my Dad wrote to Mom and I before he passed, it ended with "Remember me with Joy, not sorrow".

I am so sorry to hear of Vern's passing. I knew him since 1968 when I began with West Coast Airlines in PDX, and he was at Northwest. He and Marvel became very close friends with my parents, Mahlon and Evelyn Tracewell, and the four of them traveled and socialized together.

Vern everybody I know at NWA like you.  I remember going hunting with you, up at dawn late to bed hell I needed a vacation after that, but what fun.  We specially will miss seeing you at the ole farts luncheons.  RIP
