Born as Lillian Julia Klaus in Portland’s Legacy Emanuel Hospital on January 16, 1934 to parents Bessie and William Klaus, she was a lifelong Portland resident. Lillian graduated from Parkrose High School in the early 50’s and in her early twenties met and married her first husband, John F. Bostic.
Lillian had one child, a son, William Bostic. She was a doting mother and always put her child’s needs first. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her adult life, primarily in an administrative setting. She worked at Consolidated Freightways, Port of Portland, Halton Tractor, and B&B Management. She was a hard worker and received much respect from her coworkers.
Lillian was a people person; she loved to have conversations with friends and strangers. It was not uncommon to go out with Lillian and run into folks she knew. It didn’t seem to matter where you took her, there was usually someone there she had met before. She enjoyed having breakfast at King’s Omelets and Holland House with her steady group of friends. Lillian was a terrific grandmother, and she always wanted the best for her grandchildren. She adored her family immensely and enjoyed spending time with them.
Lillian will be deeply missed by those who knew her. She is survived by her son William and daughter-in-law Diane. Grandchildren: John Bostic, Stefanie Bostic, Kim Dunbar, Greg Dunbar and his wife, Mary. Great Grandchildren: Cailin and Henry. Brothers Eddie, Earl, Albert and Mickie Klaus.
