

Lillian Leola Burnette was born to Philip Burnette and Susie (Jackson) Burnette on September 4, 1930 in St. Louis Mo. She attended Dunbar Elementary School. In 1941, her family moved to Portland Oregon where she continued her education at Girls Polytechnic High School.
At an early age she committed her life to Christ and attended the Apostolic Faith Church in Portland Oregon. She loved music and played several instruments including the piano, organ and violin.
After the passing of her mother in 1961, Lillian decided to move to Washington D.C. where she lived until her passing. Sister Lillian faithfully served at the Apostolic Faith Church, Washington, DC in many capacities including Sunday school teacher, pianist and outreach worker. Sister Lillian indisputably loved and served the Lord with her whole heart. She rarely missed a service, including Monday night prayer and Friday night Bible Study. She was a spiritual mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to many. Indeed, everyone she met was positively impacted by Sister Lillian’s inspiring life.
Lillian was employed by the Federal Government in the Department of Health Education and Welfare until her retirement.
Lillian was preceded in death by her Father (Philip, Mother (Susie), Brothers (Phillip, Booker, Moses, Joel, Mark, Paul, Thomas, Lloyd, and Roy. Lillian leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her sister Mary (Burnette) Martin of Los Angeles, California, sister in-law Bessie Burnette of Portland, Oregon, three god daughters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many friends.
