Lillian was a graduate of Franklin High School and Portland State University. She met Sadol N. Villarreal at a church service, and they were married on January 5, 1985. Lillian worked as a teacher and was a homemaker, wife and mother, Sunday school teacher, pianist, and singer. She was the Children’s Church Program coordinator at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ Universal for many years, and enjoyed gardening, singing and playing the piano, baking, reading, and Scrabble and other games. Lillian will very much be remembered as the life of the party, funny, and full of joy. Her family will take comfort from thinking of her telling them, “Be happy and don’t worry about me…I’m in Heaven!”
Mrs. Villarreal is survived by her husband of over 39 years, Sadol N. Villarreal; children Abraham, Esther (and husband CJ), and Rebecca; grandchildren Seth, Ryker, Penny, and Kyler; brothers Robert (and wife Joanne), and Mike (and wife Laurie); sister Rosalinda (and husband Don); nephews Andres (and wife Shauna); and nieces Delilah, Rosamaria, and Graciela.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 1 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, with public viewing prior to the funeral service and a graveside committal service to follow at 3 pm in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
