

Linda was born in Portland to Fred and Alfhild Suran. She married Jim Dalrymple on July 17, 1965 at All Saints Catholic Church. Linda is survived by her loving husband Jim; children Robert of Kennewick WA, Nancy and husband Scott and children Audrey and Madeline of Lafayette CA, and son Troy and wife Gina and children Camden and Sydney of Ridgefield WA; brother Chris and wife Karen Suran of Damascus OR.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Alfhild Suran, sister Evelyn Monroe and brother Fred I. Suran.
Linda graduated from Franklin High School in 1958, attended the Providence School of Nursing and graduated in 1962. She then worked for Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Portland as a Registered Nurse and at Dr. Mattari Allergy Clinic as an RN. She stopped working after the birth of her first child and became a homemaker for 19 years then took the Registered Nurse Refresher Course at Mt. Hood Community College and worked at Adventist Long Term Care Facility where she was the head nurse on a skilled care unit. In 1992 she received the Oregon Long Term Care Nurses Association "Nurse Clinician of the Year" award. Linda retired from nursing in 2000.
Linda loved to sew. She sewed clothing for her children and made a sport coat for Jim as well as clothes for herself. She even sewed the dresses for the girls choir of Wilson High School. After she retired, she started sewing quilts. All of her children received quilts and grandchildren as well.
Linda was a member of the Daughters of Norway. Linda & Jim were members of Nordic Northwest.
Linda and Jim were involved with playing their psalmodikon's with a group of 3 others performing at churches and a winery. The psalmodikon is a very simple one-stringed instrument which was frequently used in Norwegian churches in the early 1800's.
Linda attended church with Jim at the Grotto in Portland and volunteered. She was also a member of the Friends of the Grotto along with Jim.
Linda and Jim loved going to Arizona in the winter. They enjoyed taking long walks in the morning and square dancing twice a week. Linda enjoyed the sewing room and playing cards and board games as well as socializing with other retiree's.
Linda will be greatly missed by all.

Linda Dalrymple, age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 16, 2018.
