Lisa is survived by her beloved son Rudy, mother Jean Vuksich brothers Duncan (Tracey), Malcolm (Debbie) sisters, Tara Vuksich (Ray Kelsaw) Keri Wehage, Ginny Mowery. Step children Andy and Sarah Hertel.
Lisa passed away on December 30th 2011 from renal failure, brought on from Giant Cell Myocarditis. Her journey to recovery was interrupted with multiple infections and setbacks, but Lisa never gave up her will and determination to recover was always something she strived for. Sadly after a year she succumbed to the disease.
Lisa received her Double Master’s degree at Portland State University where upon graduation she started work in the Department of Social Work and remained as the Assistant to the Dean for the next 30 years.
Retirement offered the opportunity to do what she loved best, travel. The love of travel was instilled at an early age, and followed her throughout the life. She went all over the world but France and the Mediterranean were special to her heart. The warmth of the culture and the hospitality of the people always brought her back.
Lisa was an avid passionate reader, able to recite the works of Shakespeare or quote the words of Poe, she was a talented vocalist and dedicated friend. She loved deeply and forgave quickly.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 7th from 2~4p
Her son Rudy reminds us “ She was the best at everything she did, and gladly gave everything she had.”
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that remembrances be made to the Providence Heart Transplant Program .
Arrangements under the direction of Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland, OR.
