

Louise was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was the fifth of nine children.
She met the love of her life in Mesa, Arizona. Cecil and Louise were married September 12, 1942. Following Cecil’s discharge from the Army they relocated to Portland in 1946 where they stayed and raised their three children. In her earlier years Louise worked in various restaurants but her true calling was working with children. For many years she was a preschool Teacher.
Louise took great pride in her cooking for anyone who came to her home. She made sure that no one ever left hungry. Her door was always open for you to just stop by for a cup of coffee and a warm conversation.
Louise was active in her Church until age prevented her from attending.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Cecil E. Butler. Louise is survived by her brother, Brad Madden of Modesto, California. She is also survived by her three children; Bob C. Butler (Louise), Robert A. Butler (Sandi) and Deborah J. Persha (John), her grandchildren; Cheri Wilhite, Krystal Butler and Ryan Butler, and her Great-grandchildren; Cole, Shane, Peyton, Kendra and Addyson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
They family would like to give a special Thank You to all those people who cared for Louise and shared their kindness with her and her family at Prestige Post- Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Gresham.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Gateway Little Chaple of the Chimes.
