Louise Audrey Johnson, born to Phil and Minnie Allen in Temple, Oklahoma, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. On February 19, 1945, she married Odis Johnson, and together they built a large family, bringing sixteen children into the world.
In 1972, Louise and her family relocated to Portland, Oregon, where she quickly formed lasting friendships and continued her spiritual journey. Louise was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on February 28, 1970. Being “obedient” (as she would say) and faithful to Jehovah was her central purpose in life. Although very shy, she loved sharing the Bible’s message with all she knew and in the ministry. She was faithful to this course until the very end.
She took great pride in her large family and was always happy to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was always busy in the kitchen and showed her love through cooking and baking. She was known for her chocolate mayo cake, homemade banana pudding, and pies.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, husband Odis Johnson, grandsons Adrian Johnson and Eddie Barnett Jr., several of her children, sons Murl Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Keith Johnson, and Odis Johnson, Jr., and daughters Juaniece and Janet Louise Johnson.
She is survived by her children: Berniece Johnson, Deborah Valin, Christeen Johnson, Djuana Fourcard, Bernetta Johnson, Billy Ray Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Brett Johnson, and over 85 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Louise will be dearly missed but remembered fondly for her warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. May her memory continue to inspire all who knew her.
A memorial service for Louise will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 9333 SE Mount Scott Blvd., Portland, Oregon 97266.
Louise will be laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
