Luella Elizabeth Harmon was born in Minot, North Dakota to parents Charles and Anna (Lucas) Harmon on October 21st, 1918. She was one of eight children, three boys and five girls. Her family moved to Washington when she was very young. Dolly was raised in Washington and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1936.
Shortly after graduation, Dolly exchanged wedding vows with Clinton Tugaw on December 29th, 1936, in Kelso, Washington. The two of them moved to Longview to begin a new chapter in their lives. They had two children: a son, Ronald; and a daughter Judith.
Dolly’s lifelong occupation, in addition to being a wife, mother, and homemaker, was as a lumber grader and for Longview Fiber Mill. She served Longview Fiber for 35 years. She later served and retired as a bookkeeper, also in the lumber industry. In the mid-1980s, Dolly and Clinton relocated from Longview to Portland, Oregon. Dolly was a member of Mill Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Dolly also very much enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, and crochet.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Clinton; son, Ronald; daughter, Judith; three brothers; five sisters; and one grandchild. Survivors include four Grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dolly’s life will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 27th, 2012, at 3pm. Dolly will be privately laid to rest next to her husband Clinton in Skyline Memorial Gardens, Garden of Everlasting Life.
