Lyle William Finley passed away on November 5, 2014 at his home in Portland. He was born on January 4, 1934 in Portland, Oregon, to parents Lyle Ervin and Dorothy Ada Finley. He graduated from Grant High School; while attending Grant he met Jean (Pixler), who he would marry on August 20, 1954. Lyle served for 30 years in the Army National Guard, retiring officially in July 1989 as a Staff Sergeant for the 218th Field Artillery Unit.
Lyle was always active, and loved to be outdoors, either at the coast or camping with family. He always had a good smile and welcoming demeanor. More often than anything, Lyle could be found working on cars. He restored a 1947 Ford Hot Rod, and was a member of the Slowpokes Car Club.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Jean Finley; daughters Janelle Fadness and her husband Dan and Denise Finley and her friend Roger; 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.He will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park on November 14, 2014 at 1:00pm. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
