Mae Carter Hill Bolden

Mae Carter Hill Bolden, quilter, educator, family, and church matriarch, went to her eternal resting place on August 26, 2020. Mae passed away in her Portland, Oregon home with family present.

Mae was born to loving parents on July 18, 1920, and lived over half of her life in Washington, D.C. Her 100 years resounded with a great passion for life, a firm reliance on her faith, generosity, and sharing life lessons. Mae treasured the memories created and love received from her Cherry Park United Methodist Church Family, family, extended family, and friends.

Mae Bolden was proceeded in death by her sister Birthine Howard (Henry Howard), loving husband (Edgar Bolden), and cousin (Geraldine Callahan). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a nephew (William Howard), cousins (Veatrice Crawford, Courtney Griffin, and Walt Griffin); God daughters Margaret Holmes (Eugene); Gayle Schulz (Terry); Evelyn C. Harris; Christie Sosansa; and a host of loving extended family and friends.

Special Condolences to William (Billy) & Lynne, All Other Immediate Family Members & Beloved Friends of The Late Mrs. Mae Carter Hill Bolden (Affectionately Known as "Aunt Mae")

We are deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Mae's passing, but give Glory, Honor, Praise and Thanks to God for letting her spend 100 years on earth with all of your family. You all have soo much to Thank God for. We extend our heartfelt sympathy & 🙏 to each of you during this time of grief & bereavement.
Remember that Only God can turn our hurts into happiness OR turn our tears of Sorrow into sweet tears of Joy! It's up to us to believe, trust and give Him Complete Control of our lives, .... as we obey His Commandments, then, ... He'll give us the desires of our 💕. He sees, hears, knows & truly cares about each of us. We're all very Precious, Important & Special to God!
When we lose a Christian ✝️ loved one here on earth, we then gain an angel who truly loves & watches over us from heaven. "God promised Never to leave you OR Forsake you & that He'd be with you UNTO death." "Be not dismayed, whatever be tide; God Will take care of you! Beneath His wings, doth Love abide; God Will take care of you!" God gives us new Hope for each Tomorrow. So, please remember that Comfort, Joy, Peace & New Strength are on the way!

Aunt Mae,
You will definitely be missed from our family!! I will always remember the special birthdays, trips and all the time that you took to make sure that we were on track with our education. Thank you for being the BEST Aunt Ever! Take your wings in Glory and soar high...Give my love to Mama, Daddy, Charles, Uncle Lewis and all of our other relatives and friends. Until we meet again!
