Margaret Mary Cook
October 16, 1920 – May 16, 2020
Margaret Mary Cook, loving matriarch of the Cook clan, passed peacefully on the morning of May 16, 2020.
Margaret was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Anton and Helen Hildebrand. As a very young girl, her family immigrated to Portland, Oregon where she resided until her death.
In May of 1940, she married Ralph, who preceded her in death in 1996. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament and St. Charles Churches. Margaret worked for many years at the Town Club until her retirement in 1985.
She enjoyed attending Sunday masses, taking trips to Manzanita on the Oregon coast (which included a beer and burger at the San Dune Pub!) and the many “large” family gatherings.
Margaret and Ralph together raised ten children: Raymond, Carol, Marilyn, Kenneth, Joanne, Janice, Patricia, Robert (deceased), James and Kathy. She is also survived by numerous sons and daughters-in-law, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Margaret’s stubbornness, wit, love of food, feistiness, and strength will be greatly missed by all.
