Margaret L. Hyde

Margaret Louise Hyde was born in Wilder, ID to Roger and Irene Batt. She was raised there with four siblings: Wendell, Donald, Harold and Gladys. Margaret graduated from Wilder High School in 1938. She moved to Portland ORin 1939 to live with her Aunt and attend Business College. On Oct. 23, 1941 Margaret wed Macey Hyde in Golden Gate Baptist Church of Wilder, ID. Macey was the love of her life and they spent 68 years together until his death in 2010. The couple had four children: Kenneth, Kathleen, Susan, and Sharon. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for Rosenblatts department store and then went on to work in the family business Mar-HY Distributors. She was an active homemaker and mother, involved in her children's school activities. Margaret enjoyed participating with friends in many groups, some of them for over 50 years. She was an active member of Waverly Heights Congregational Church. Margaret enjoyed golfing, traveling with Macey and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Margaret passed away on June 25, 2012 in her daughter's home in Happy Valley surrounded by her loving family. Margaret is survived by her children Kenneth, Kathleen, Susan, and Sharon, five grandchildren, Joanna, Eric, Matthew, Ashley, and Taylor, and her sister-in-law Violet.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Valley View Evangelical Church, 11501 SE Sunnyside Road, Clackamas, OR 97015. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Waverly Heights Congregational Church, 3300 SE Woodward St., Portland, OR 97202.
