Margaret spent most of her life in the Chicago area where as a young woman she met her future husband Frank just prior to his shipping off to serve his country in World War II. Margaret and Frank were married in June of 1948 and were later blessed with two beautiful children. After divorcing a number of years later, Margaret, as a single parent, raised daughter Jeanne and son Tony. Margaret created a home for her family in Mundelein and later Barrington Illinois, while she worked as a manager of a currency exchange in Chicago.
As young adults, Jeanne and Tony began to pursue their own lives and create families of their own. Jeanne later provided care for Margaret particularly as she aged and developed health issues.
In 1987, Margaret and her daughter Jeanne made the decision to move to Portland to enjoy the beautiful scenery and greenery that Margaret had always loved throughout her life. Margaret always enjoyed animals, especially dogs, and had a special fondness for raccoons, as her son Tony had a pet raccoon as a young teenage boy. At her home in Portland, Margaret looked forward to her daily ritual of putting out a bowl of food for the raccoons, and delighted in seeing them come to the porch to eat each day. She also cherished her little Norfolk terrier Molly. Margaret enjoyed her home, and spent much of her time puttering to keep it a warm and inviting place to be.
The last few years she fell into ill health, struggling with heart problems and arthritis. Although in much discomfort, Margaret was made comfortable in the loving relationships she had with her many good neighbors and friends.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Jeanne, her son Tony and his wife Loretta, her grandchildren Christopher and Courtney, and her great granddaughter Vivienne.
