Maria Hiticas

Maria Hiticas born in Baita de Sub Codru, Romania, in June 1959, her parents Ana and Pintea Pop, from a family of nine children. Maria was the second after Vasile, who passed away, then Florika, Mitru, Aurica, Ilie, who also is passed, Lidia and Anuta.

Maria lived in her childhood years in Baita. When she was 18 years old, she and her family moved to Sannicolau Mare, Timis.  She got married to Cornel Hiticas in 1970.  Then, in 1981, she moved with her family and their six children, at the time, in Baia Mare, Maramures.  In the year of 1991 together with her family, and their nine children, they came to United States and settled in Portland, OR. In 2000, they moved to Sacramento, CA where they lived until Maria’s health started to deteriorate.  Then, they moved to Portland again, where Estera and her husband Dorel, opened their hearts and their home to provide much needed care for her.  On Sept. 28, 2026, Maria heard God’s voice calling her home, and she went to be with the Lord. 

She left behind, her husband Cornel, of 56 years of marriage, her children; Estera, Marcel, Daniel, Adina, Lidia, Emil, Cornel, Anna, and Joanna.

Maria, our mother had the biggest heart. She was the most sacrificial woman. She raised nine children with patience and grace. She taught generosity, she taught patience and kindness. She planted so much love in the lives of those around her. She fought her battles on her knees, bringing every worry, burden and person she loved before God in her prayers. Her faith was quiet but powerful. She was a woman of incredible strength, unwavering faith, and a heart devoted to God.

She will forever be loved and cherished in our hearts.
