Marian Pauline (Remlinger) Ryan, 88 passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 26 at Providence Hospital in Portland. A lifelong Portlander, she attended Holy Redeemer Grade School and Immaculata High School. She enjoyed volunteering, singing in the church choir, sewing, letterwriting and scrapbooking. Marian was known for her kind heart, spirit of adventure, curiosity and resilience. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel and children Carolyn, Martin and Vincent. She is survived by her daughters Millie, Theresa and Louise and son, Frank; grandchildren Gabe, Jennifer, Jake, Josh and Joe; great grandson, Jeremy; her sister, Agnes Olsen; her special friend, Rodney Heckaman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, August 31 from 4-8 pm at Zeller Chapel of the Roses. A rosary will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 1 followed by a funeral service at 11 am at The Madeleine Church.
