

Marjorie Jean Brown passed away on August 11, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1925 in Tillamook, Oregon to her parents, Oliver Saldona Bacon and Esther Alberta Bacon (née Hamilton), and was raised in Oregon and southwest Washington.
After her sophomore year, Marjorie attended the NW Bible Institute for a total of four years, and earned straight A’s. She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell, first as a long- distance operator, then as a customer service representative in their public office. She retired with 25 years of service.
While attending a Revival meeting in Salem, Oregon, Marjorie met Jack Fletcher Brown. They were engaged after 6 weeks, and were married on August 27, 1947.
Marjorie was very active in church and a proud member of Portland Christian Center (formerly known as Portland First Assembly of God) since 1953. She also served as a Sunday school teacher, Greeter and support staff for the many concerts and programs presented. She loved to entertain and throw parties and enjoyed her role as Hostess. Marjorie will forever be remembered as a prayer warrior who was incredibly generous and proud of her family.
Marjorie is survived by her children Tamara (Don) and Robert (Sheila), her sister Evelyn Brunkal, as well as her 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at Portland Christian Center on August 28, 2023 at 1PM.
