When she was 19, Marlene married Eugene Theodore Hansen Sr. and the two were married for 64 years, until Eugene’s passing in 2007. In 1946 after the couple had two boys, they moved to Oregon to start a new life. They went on to have two more children. Marlene worked for the State of Oregon in an administrative role for twenty years, where she retired early.
Marlene will be most remembered for the love and care she gave her family. She was a nurturing and supportive mother; a strong woman who raised four children, all very close in age. She was a quiet person, who enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Marlene was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held in her honor in the near future.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bertha Wold; her siblings Victor, Romaine, Vernon, LaVern and Karen; and her husband Eugene Theodore Hansen Sr. She is survived by her children: Eugene Theodore Hansen Jr. (Linda), Dean Henry Hansen (Jean), Lawrence Alan Hansen and Karen Hansen Bennett; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Marlene will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park.
