Marlene Ellen Miler, 73, was born July 29, 1952, in Portland, Oregon, and died July 27, 2026. She was a beloved and cherished presence to those who knew her, and her life was marked by an adventurous spirit and an inspirational way of moving through the world—quietly, thoughtfully, and with enduring warmth.
An art major in college, Marlene carried a lifelong appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship, shaping the way she saw the world and the way she cared for the spaces and people around her. That discerning eye became a steady thread throughout her life, reflecting both her creativity and her attentive, considered approach to all she undertook.
Marlene built a successful career as a real estate broker alongside her mother, pairing professionalism with a natural sense of style and proportion. She was also a local business owner who ran a furniture store, where her artistic sensibilities and interior design insight helped others create homes that felt welcoming and true. In each endeavor, she brought a sense of purpose and care that left a lasting impression.
In her personal life, Marlene found joy in travel—especially trips to Mexico—and in the simple comforts of home. She dearly loved her cats, including her Siamese companions, and she was known as an excellent cook who loved to entertain. As an artist, she also loved painting, continuing to express her creativity with the same grace and intention that defined so much of her life.
A Graveside Service will be held at Skyline Memorial Gardens, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229, on August 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Marlene’s final resting place will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland.
