Arrangements under the diRockaway Beach, Oregon resident Mary Beth Brown Moore passed away peacefully Friday, October 30 at the age of 79. Born March 6, 1936 in Lawton, Oklahoma, Mary Beth was a 1954 graduate of Lawton High School. In addition to Lawton, Oklahoma, Mary Beth also resided in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Casper, Wyoming; and Hanford, California.
Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Brown and Lois Ethel Barrett; her husband of 52 years, Lee Moore; and one grandson, Spencer Duncan. She is survived by her children Scott Moore (Patricia) of Billings, Montana; Brant Moore (Lynda) of Portland, Oregon; Megan Moore Duncan (Dale) of Olathe, Kansas; Mindy Milar Moore of Portland, Oregon; and her beloved grandchildren Marguerite Moore and Scott Moore of Portland, Oregon, and Tanner Duncan and Calder Duncan of Olathe, Kansas.
Mary Beth was a devoted mother, not only to her own children, but also to any of the numerous teenagers who were blessed to sit down at her dinner table. She loved to cook, especially chicken enchiladas, and she loved to travel, especially to her favorites Morro Bay, California and Sequoia National Park. We have a Mary Beth-shaped hole in our lives, but we know she is happy to be reunited with those who have gone before her.
A private family memorial celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, and in accordance with her wishes, donations may be made in memory of Mary Beth to the Spencer C Duncan Make It Count Foundation (www.makeitcounttoday.org) or to the charity of your choice.
