Dear Dale, My name is Diana Sohlstrom Smith, Gail was my uncle, and your mother was my aunt, so we are cousins.  My mother was Eleanor, one of Gail's sisters.  Gail's brother Doug passed away near the same time as Gail.  Gail's brother Otis passed away two years ago at the end of June.  He was in Denver, and I oversaw his care in his last years. Unfortunately he became too frail for me to move him back to Portland,  Otis passed away two years ago - June 24, 2010.  My mother, Eleanor "Ellie" had a stroke nearly five years ago.  I was able to keep her in her home with wonderful caregivers until she passed away July 12, 2011.  My father Aaron became ill shortly after Mom passed away, and he died on August 8, 2012.  All are resting at Willamette National Cemetery.The one remaining Skinner is their sister Dorothy, who lives in Salt Lake City.  I hear her health is failing, and her daughters have been helping her.  I am very sorry to hear about your mother passing. I know how challenging this must be for you.  The obituary you put together for her was wonderful. It is fun to see her passion for golf was ever present.  Mom, Doug, Gail and Otis - as you know - were always at home on the golf course, and it is fun to see Eileen had their love of the game.  As for me, I am married, no children (except for our two small dogs) and my husband and I recently moved to Keizer, OR from Beaverton.  And we live on a golf course - and my dream is to be at least half as good as my mother at golf - which is a very high bar. May God grant you peace and many wonderful memories.  Your mother has many Sklnner's watching our for her.
