Megan Kristina Acord, 34, passed away on September 11, 2025, in Portland, Oregon after bravely battling cancer the past four years. Born on February 8, 1991, in Bury St Edmunds, England she brought comfort and a warm smile to those who knew her.
Megan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Arkansas, a testament to her intellectual drive and dedication. Her sharp wit and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on friends, colleagues, and loved ones alike. She was known for her sweet demeanor and keen mind—qualities that defined her presence in every room she entered.
She fell in love with the Northwest after visiting her sister and decided to relocate permanently. It was in Portland that she met the love of her life, Ben, while working at Wells Fargo. A match made of two sharp minds, they enjoyed their intellectual conversations and a true love of Legos. She adopted Luna, the softest cat you'll ever pet, who quickly became her constant companion.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Benjamin Chanco; her father, Trent (Sara) Acord; her sisters, Lauren (Casey) Spartz and Kirsten Acord; her grandmother, Kay (David) Potter; her niece Ava Spartz and nephew Noah Spartz. Megan was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Acord; grandparents Leilani Kolbus, Gary Acord, and Janet and Alan Gant.
Although Megan’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, the memories she left us will continue to bring us joy, laughter, and uplift our spirits.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Megan’s life in Portland on September 19, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Washington County Cooperative Library Services.
A graveside service for Megan will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225.
