Michael (Mike) Winn Beveridge passed away on December 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 4, 1941, in Portland, Oregon, to Colonel William (Bill) Beveridge and Sarah (Sally) Byrne, Mike grew up as the youngest of the Beveridge boys in Northeast Portland. He attended Alameda Elementary and Grant High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and spent many memorable evenings at the well-known Yaw’s Burger joint.
Following his graduation from Grant, Mike enrolled at Oregon State University. It was there that his enduring devotion to the Beavers truly took shape—those who knew him often remarked that he bled orange and black. During these years, he also developed a deep passion for race cars, particularly open wheel racing. After studying forestry, he embarked on a European journey with a close friend, following Formula 1 races and assisting in the purchase of a Lola race car. Mike treasured the time he spent at the track, serving on the pit crew and embracing the excitement of the sport.
Professionally, Mike worked in log exporting and home building before helping to found American Custom Homes, a company dedicated to exporting homebuilding materials to the Japanese
market.
In 1965, Mike met Lynn, the love of his life and his steadfast companion. They married in 1969 and later welcomed their children, Jason and Katy. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He coached both children’s soccer teams, becoming a lifelong fan of soccer, and treating every player as if they were part of his own family. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people into his circle, turning friendships into lifelong bonds. Countless memories were made on soccer trips, fishing trips, camping weekends, ski adventures, and later, at his most cherished place—The Pines in Camp Sherman.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Beveridge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lynn Beveridge; his son, Jason Beveridge (Shannon); his daughter, Katy Beveridge (Eric); and his grandchildren, Diego and Eileen.
