

Michael (Mike) Robin Garvin took his last journey on February 12, 2015, at 1825 hrs. in Hillsboro, Oregon. Mike was a Native Oregonian having been born to Lancelot Garvin, Jr. and Marjorie Schlip Garvin on May 22, 1942 at Emanual Hospital, Portland, Oregon.
Mike attended Irvington Grade School and graduated from Grant High School in 1960. He was employed by Portland Public Schools for 34 years. He began as a Custodian's helper while in high school. He went on to work as a Laborer/Hod Carrier in the Maintenance Department. He retired in February, 1998 as a Foreman of the Asbestos Abatement crew the last 12 years. Mike was in the Oregon National Guard and USAR. He was discharged as a MSG in 1985 with 18 years service. In 1976, and again in 1992, he married Edna Webster Ingraham, becoming step-father to her 4 children.
He is survived by his wife, Edna, step-children Joyce Robberstad (Mike); Paul Ingraham; Betty Anliker (Dennis); brothers, Lancelot Garvin,III (Sue); Patrick Garvin (Danielle); and sister, Kathleen Ruth; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Ernest Ingraham; and brother, Daniel Garvin.
