Thinking of you today, Mike.   You wouldn’t believe how much the world has changed since you’ve been gone.   I’m grateful for the years we had together and am sorry you left us too soon. IN a few weeks, it will have been a year.  I just found some videos that you had installed on the computer.  You were loving Lucy the dachsund, and enjoying her company.  It was nice to hear your voice.  I miss you so much.  We were such good friends, you and I.  I think of you every day, Mike.  Though I am now finally moving on, you are in my heart forever. I miss you so much, Mike.  Thanksgiving was so hard.  The first few months were the worst.  I had so much anxiety.  Yesterday, I cried so hard.  It was the first time in a while, and I needed to do it.  I was going thru your photos.  We had so many nice memories together. I saw a video that you had made of one of our vacations.  I heard you chuckle to yourself as you were taping.  It was filled with such love for me. 

I wasn't going to put up a tree this year, but I changed my mind.  You always liked it when I decorated, so I am putting up the tree this year.   You are forever in my heart.  I love you and I miss you.  Your wife, Bridget Smolen

Was very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I had worked with him as a Supervisor at FTC during a difficult time, and I appreciated his support. I remember him as an easy going guy, with a ready laugh.
