Mike led a fulfilling life as the proud owner of ABLE Appliance and Refrigeration Repair, a thriving business that served the Portland community with excellence and dedication for decades.
Throughout his life, Mike was known for his kind and artistic nature. He deeply cared for his community, always going above and beyond to help others. His attention to detail and methodical approach were admired by all who knew him.
In his free time, Mike had a passion for camping, earning him the nickname "Master Camper" and "Fire King." He especially enjoyed camping at Timothy Lake, where he embarked on countless camping trips with his closest friends. Fishing was another hobby he cherished, finding solace and joy in the great outdoors. Mike had an extensive collection of music including CDs and cassettes that were all meticulously labeled and organized.
He loved the Holidays, especially the ones he could be creative with. He perfectly wrapped and tagged hundred of presents for his friend's children, always making sure everything was catalogued and even. He would stay late Christmas Eve, helping put together more gifts, perfecting his "Santa signature" and thank you note before grabbing the cookies and leaving. Michael dyed, decorated, and hid hundreds of Easter eggs and never missed and opportunity to carve a Jack-o-lantern.
Mike embraced the quote, "the journey is the destination." He lived his life with purpose, intention, and on his own terms.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, artistic spirits, and love for his community will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
A private gathering will be held to celebrate Mike's life with dear friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
