Minnie Deah Lloyd was born February 24, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Carl and Ola Edwards. She passed away on August 21, 2010, in Portland, Oregon at the age of 85.
Minnie was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. On November 24, 1945, she married the love of her life, David Wesley Lloyd. From that union came three beautiful children; David Wesley Lloyd Jr., Patti (Lloyd) Riggert, and Robin (Lloyd) Boros. After spending some time living in the Tacoma/Seattle, Washington area, the Lloyd's moved to Portland, Oregon in 1962.
Some of Minnie's most favorite things to do included reading, watching birds, watching people, bowling and holding babies. She also had a love for Wayne Newton's music, cats and snakes; so much so that she even owned her own python, Shere Khan. She undoubtedly had an unconditional love for her two favorite television shows: "The Price Is Right" and "Let's Make A Deal". It is said that she had a rule, that no one could call her between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am, which is when these shows aired. Minnie was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and did a lot of volunteer work for them in previous years.
Minnie is preceded in death by her husband, David Wesley Lloyd Sr. (1977), and her son, David Wesley Lloyd Jr. (1958). She is survived by her daughters, Patti Riggert and Robin Boros; two grandchildren, Crissy (Hadley) Havnar and Samantha (Riggert) Spaulding; six great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Minnie's family loves her and will miss her very much.
