Molly Ann Walsh Mason
July 25, 1990 – May 30, 2019
Molly Ann Walsh Mason, 28, of Portland, unexpectedly passed away on May 30, 2019. She was born in Oregon City on July 25, 1990 and graduated from Oregon City High School in 2008. She married her high school sweetheart, Cody Jack Mason, on September 13, 2014. They later separated but remained close friends until her death.
Molly attended and graduated from Phagan’s School of Hair Design in 2012, worked briefly at Great Clips in the Johnson Creek area, and began her career as a gifted hair stylist at Hair by Richard in downtown Portland. She worked at Urbaca Hair Salon in the Pearl District for the past three years. She loved her career, workplace, co-workers, and clients.
Beautiful inside and out, Molly had a kind and generous nature, and was devoted to her friends and family. She was a fierce competitor in soccer and fast-pitch softball. She had incredible brown-black eyes and could look amazing in clothes that would look ridiculous on anyone else. She enjoyed Oregon’s beaches and forests, Hawaii, and was looking forward to a hair styling adventure in Greece. She loved her succession of cats. A curiously modified Barbie doll was her favorite Christmas tree ornament. She swooned over crème brulee so much that she got a blow torch and learned to make her own. She was a Christian.
Molly is survived by husband Cody, mother Lisa (Bob Gonzales), father Tom (Sue), grandparents Patricia and Mark Raso, brothers Ryan and Anthonie Webster, sister Rhiannon (Chris Kamper, Gavin, Grayson, and Gage) and sister Wendy. She leaves behind her adoring aunt Laurel (cousins Sarah, Claire and Emilee). She also will be deeply missed by aunts Nancy, Eileen, Jeannie (cousin Sara); uncle John (Stephanie, cousins Andy and Emma); and cousins Niki, Desta, and Mark. She leaves behind her longtime best friend, Layla Safadi.
A memorial service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Lakeside Garden, 16211 SE Foster Road, Portland, OR 97236.
