Myra was born February 5, 1941 in Portland to Philip and Elizabeth. She is survived by her husband Delmar, sister Jeannene, daughter Melinda, and five step-children~ Gloria, Byron, Carrie, Mark, and Tim.
Born and raised with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and the simple joys of life, Myra was always busy doing something for her family, her friends or her beloved animals. Myra worked for 33 years at NW Natural as a draftsman and permit specialist, where she was known not only for her diligence and professionalism, but also for her generous spirit and easy smile.
Outside of work, Myra found joy in life’s quiet pleasures. She had a deep love for animals, a passion for travel, and a steadfast commitment to her church community. Whether she was helping a friend or neighbor, doting on a pet, or planning her next adventure, Myra lived with an open heart and a generous soul. She will be remembered most for her compassion, her quirks, and the way she made people feel seen and loved. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and we will remember her neverending kindness and resilience.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Oregon Humane Society in her memory.
A funeral service for Myra will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Apostolic Faith Church, 5601 SE Duke Street, Portland, Oregon.
