Myron Clarence Snyder passed away on May 9, 2017 at home surrounded by his family and his beloved pets Theo, Willy and Lucy. He was born in Watertown, South Dakota on January 1, 1941 to Clarence and Doris Snyder. Myron’s family moved to southeast Portland when he was a child where he grew up helping in the garden, learning to fish, boat and tend to the family animals. After high school, he served in the Army for six months and then later served in the Army Reserves for eight years becoming a staff sergeant and cook. He loved to cook and was mighty good at it! In 1964 he married Sami Jo Neil and they had one son, Jeffrey Alan Snyder and one daughter, Marjorie Eleanor Snyder Dowell. They divorced in 1972. In 1978 he married his best friend and soul mate, Debby Gilbertson. She was the love of his life and they were happily married for 39 years until his passing. Myron worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring at the young age of 49. In his spare time, Myron enjoyed wood working, admiring cars of all kinds and watching sports. He also loved spending time with his family including his dogs and cats. He was always kind and loving, fair and generous to all he knew and who knew him. Even in his final days, he was more concerned about others than himself, heaven surely gained a new angel. Myron is survived by his wife Debby Snyder; son Jeff Snyder (Cheri); daughter Marjorie Dowell (Donovan); grandchildren Brandon, Amanda and Emily, in addition to six great grandchildren, Anna Bella, Johnny, Echo, Syris, Elijah and Kelly.
