Nancy Anne Randall of Milwaukie passed away on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at the age of 59. She was born in Portland on August 31, 1954, to the late James and Dorothy Macfarlane. Nancy graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1972. She married Bob Randall on August 16, 1975.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. After high school, she worked for Aetna Insurance for seven years as a supervisor/claims adjuster. When her children were born, she left Aetna to become a stay at home mother and homemaker. She later went back to work as a deli manager and became known by many of her coworkers as The Chicken Queen because she made the best roasted chicken in the world. She retired in 2007 and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her new grandson, Ozzie.

Nancy enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. There were never too many flowers and her green thumb could make any plant thrive. She would always be there to help do last minute alterations for anyone in need before a special occasion and making quilts for new born children of family and friends, along with teaching those who wanted to learn how to do it themselves. Her homemade meals from any food available were always great and there was never enough of her potato salad to last at a party. Mystery novels were an obsession, so much so that many times she couldn’t put one down and stayed up all night to read it from start to finish. In recent years crossword puzzles became another passion, always looking forward to the next newspaper so she could do another and find out any mistakes on the last. Her favorite movie was ‘Support Your Local Sheriff.’ She enjoyed both westerns and comedies of which it was the best of both, and her favorite song was ‘I Melt with You.’ She never tired of either.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Bob, and her two children; Sarah Randall of Milwaukie and Holly Reed of Lake Oswego. She is also survived by her grandson Ozzie Randall, sisters Valora Matthews and Margie Cox, and Aunt Wanda Adams.

A viewing will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral home from 10-5pm on Tuesday, January 7th. The Celebration of Life service will take place at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 8th, with a reception immediately following.

Mom, I miss you so much. My heart feels so broken. I can't believe still, we have had to live without you.... It's been unbelievably hard to keep it together. You were a lot of the glue that held me together. I love you so much and think of you multiple times out of every day.
