Opal dedicated an extraordinary 47 years of service to Sulzer Pumps, where she worked in administration and as a purchasing agent. Through decades of steady commitment, she became someone others could rely on—bringing order, follow-through, and a strong sense of responsibility to the work in front of her.
Beyond her professional life, Opal’s heart was especially drawn to animals. She loved dogs and horses, and she rescued dogs—offering care and safety in ways that reflected her deep compassion and steadfast devotion.
Opal will be remembered for a spirit that could brighten a room, a sense of humor that brought ease to those around her, and a frank strength that did not shy away from hard conversations. She met life with candor and presence, and she leaves a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Burial will be held at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229, on September 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
