Pamela Jean Woolcock

Pamela Jean Woolcock, 69 years old, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on April 26th, 2023. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She lived in Colorado and Germany for 3 years while her husband Chris was stationed in the US Army, then lived in Southeast Portland for 7 years and finally making their home in Gresham, Oregon for the next 36 years. As a child, her parents Orville and Helen Keene would take her and her older sister, Beverly, on outdoor trips, like camping at Ocean Park, Washington and the Oregon Coast where she enjoyed clamming. She also enjoyed going to Disneyland, roller-skating, playing with dolls, cooking with her mom and being outside and playing with the neighborhood kids. After graduating from Marshall High School and receiving a scholarship to beauty school, Pamela earned her license as a beautician. She also attended Mt. Hood Community College where she got a degree in General Business Management and had a life-long career in marketing; working as a service representative for several telephone companies including Pacific Northwest Bell and AT&T, where she retired from in 2004. She was married to Chris Woolcock, whom she met when they were both 17 years old at a DeMolay dance. After being asked many times in many places by Chris, the two became engaged and then married on January 12, 1974. She gave birth to Tracie Jean Woolcock on November 1, 1974. Tracie became the light of Pamela’s life and would give her two beautiful granddaughters, Trisha Jean, born December 12, 2000 and Alexendra Pamela, born March 19, 2004. She would keep her childhood family traditions alive by taking all the children in the family to Disneyland once they turned five. She also loved to camp at the beach in their motorhome, go on cruises and trips to Hawaii. Besides traveling, she loved to cook, crochet, take pictures, play cards, hot tub, drink margaritas, go out to restaurants and she also loved animals, especially her dogs, Princess, Ashley, Zoe, and Jasmine. Pamela was a Seventh Day Adventist and also attended St. Peters Lutheran Church. She was very passionate about her volunteer work with the Eastern Star and other Masonic orders and youth groups. She served as Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Royal Matron of Order of Amaranth, and Job’s Daughters Honored Queen of Bethel #79. Her daughter, Tracie, was Honored Queen of Bethel #63. Pam was also involved in Amaranth, Odd Fellows, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Daughters of the Nile and Order of Rainbow Mt. Scott #15, where Tracie, Trisha, and Alex served as Worthy Advisors. She was a strong, understanding, and compassionate woman who loved to be included and be a part of everything. Pamela was well cared for and surrounded by love at the time of her passing. She would have wanted to be remembered for leaving a positive, loving and favorable impression on family and friends, with always having the best of intentions. She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Norris Keene; her mother, Helen Eleanor (Baker) Keene; her husband, Chris Warren Woolcock; and her daughter, Tracie Jean Borchers. Funeral services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15th at 12:00 PM followed by a reception and interment at Willamette National Cemetery.
