It's hard to believe that four years have now passed since Pat has passed.  We worked very closely while teaching at Zweibruecken Elementary #1 in West Germany (back then there was still an East and a West Germany.)  Pat was so kind and generous to me and to my family and even after our 2nd child was born in Zweibruecken, and we had some problems, Pat was always there for us.  She died way too soon.  When I think of my teaching career, I always think of Pat as one of my teachers.


I was just thinking of some fond memories of Ms. Mayo and decided to look her up. Ms. Mayo was my 4th grade teacher at West Ruislip in 1998. 

Some great memories in her class include staying organized with STPs and PODs,  our bouncing Tigger mascot, and I think we had a bring your furby to class day haha - those were all the rage. I still have my quarterly videos from her class. 

Ms. Mayo made a lasting impression on my life. My condolences to your family. 

Receiving a notice that it has been two years already since Pat passed, fills my head with various memories of meeting her and working with her in Germany.  As I have already mentioned she was a teacher's teacher, always creating, always caring, ever so concerned about teaching. She was an incredible mentor to me and my family and was super supportive of us, coming from the U.S. and living in a foreign country for the first time.  We had many dinners with her and her family at that time.  Her knowledge of educational theories and practices exceeded mine, and I learned from her.  I am so sorry she is gone now.  Way too soon.  

I have been searching for her for quite some time, she was my 4th grade teacher, 1999-2000 in West Ruislip. I wanted to thank her for enstilling great values and a love for education into me, which is why I am now pursuing my education to be a teacher. I still have a beautiful book about ballet that she wrote to me in. My condolences to the family. 

Wanted to add that I too worked with Pat in the DOD Schools in Germany (1978-1980) in a  town called Zweibruecken.  Pat was so generous, kind and gracious to us, especially after the U.S. Army sunk our household goods in the ocean.  We spoke a few times during the past 38 years and always enjoyed listening to her latest educational adventure.  She was a teacher's teacher...one of the best that I have ever had the pleasure to know.  I loved her dearly.  Our deepest  sympathies and condolences to the family at this time. Momma Pat was the only person I ever called mom. Although I have not seen her for 30 plus years, I think of her often. May she rest in peace. 

My favorite memory was our morning hugs while she put on my panty hose.

I worked with Pat in the Department of Defense Oversea Schools in the 1990's at West Ruislip Elementary School (United Kingdom, just west of the city of London) where she taught in the intermediate grades.  She will be missed.
