

Patricia L. Thompson, affectionately known as Patty or Pat, was born on December 31, 1950, and passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Patty fought courageously with a long battle of Dementia with Lewy Bodies. Despite the challenges this illness presented, she faced each day with resilience, grace, and determination. Her ability to maintain warmth, humor, and kindness throughout her journey stands as a testament to her remarkable character. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
Patti's life was marked by a deep sense of purpose and a steadfast commitment to serving others. Raised with strong values, she began her distinguished federal career in 1971 with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, quickly earning a reputation as a leader and innovator. Over four decades, she held numerous positions, culminating in her role as Human Resources Officer, where her guidance and integrity shaped the careers of countless colleagues. For her exceptional service and leadership, Patricia received the Department of the Interior's highest honor—the Distinguished Service Award.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patty embraced life with warmth and grace. She delighted in finding treasures at Goodwill, blending practicality with her unique sense of style. She had a playful tradition of leaving the tags on her finds, proudly showing family and friends the bargains she'd scored, as if to celebrate her knack for smart and resourceful shopping. This lighthearted gesture became part of her charm, reflecting both her frugality and her sense of humor.
Known for her kindness and generosity, she always saw the best in those around her. Patty cherished her family above all, offering unwavering encouragement to her son, Nick, and finding immense joy in being a grandmother to Andrew. As a loving sister and aunt, Patricia shared her warmth and wisdom with her family, nurturing close bonds and creating lasting memories. She was also a true friend to many, offering kindness, encouragement, and a listening ear, enriching the lives of those around her through her generous spirit and heartfelt companionship. Her love of simple pleasures— well-poured pint, laughter with friends, and time spent with loved ones-reflected her appreciation for life's everyday moments.
Patricia L. Thompson will be remembered for her professional excellence, integrity, and sense of mission. More importantly, she will be cherished for her devotion to her family and friends, her generous nature, and her ability to inspire others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of Nick, Andrew, and countless family, friends, and colleagues of whose lives were enriched by her presence.
No formal services are planned. A private family inurnment will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Patricia Thompson to the Dementia Society of America or the Oregon Humane Society.
