Patrick D. Courter, 67, died August 12 at his home in Carlton, Oregon after a courageous struggle with ALS. Patrick was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his service in the Vietnam War. He lived on Maui for over 20 years, where he worked as a production sales manager for Maui brand sugar.
Patrick is survived by Sharron Courter, his wife of 38 years; his brother, Walter Courter; four children: Stephen Courter, Shelley Courter, Marcie Courter, and Teresa Lashchuk; four grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 20 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Portland. A military honors ceremony will follow.
